Ina Garten is an American author of cookbooks on cooking and Emmy Award-winning host of the Food Network's most popular program, Barefoot Contessa that debuted in 2002 has 27 seasons to 2020. Ina Garten began her professional career at the White House where she wrote the nuclear energy policy and budget documents. Her first impression was that her job interesting and stimulating but eventually lost interest and bought a small speciality store for food named Barefoot Contessa. Her store was extremely successful over the course of 18 years until she decided to sell it. Then she began writing her first cookbook. There were many additional cookbooks as well as magazine articles came later. Meanwhile the Food Network television show too began its run and was popular. In addition, she sells all kinds of cooking equipment, tools and storage containers. Ina did not go to a cookery class nor did she be employed at restaurants. She is a complete self-taught. Her relaxed approach to entertaining and her easy cook style are very well-known. Her most well-known recipes include straightforward recipes such as Skillet Roasted Lemon Chicken Macaroni and Cheese using Beef Bourguignon as well as Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
